WSKF University is a joint project of japanese and american organizations aimed at developing the managerial and aducational skills of Sports Instructors Worldwide.

The WSKF University, along with The Board of Directors of The World Shotokan Karate-do Federation, has developed a Management Diploma to be offered to WSKF and sports instructors and would-be instructors worldwide (our purpose is “to train the trainer” as WSKF’s mission states), starting as a Pilot Project that will integrate a variety of courses in Strategic Planning and Project Development, Accounting and Business Administration, Marketing and Promotion, Client Service, Finance and Sponsorships, as well as Human Resource Management and Process Control, applying advanced technologies to improve the education and the standard of living of all our Senseis, as well as promoting the development of new dojos, gyms and community projects. A second diploma in Sports Education will follow the pilot project. We first want to teach teachers to manage, then, we will teach them to teach.

The level of management training among sports instructors today is low or non-existing. Their education is essentially technical in nature. However, after their competitive years come to an end, they tend to go into teaching without re-engineering their training to prepare themselves for a new and totally different stage in their lives. This leads many of them to confront a harsh reality: Competitive success does not necessarily lead to success in business...

This project goes to the heart of organizational development and should be one of the most significant legacies to be left by WSKF to the world of sports, clearly separating it from other martial arts federations. It should constitute a management and human development tool for the years to come, promoting the growth of dojos and representatives throughout the five continents.

WSKF University will accept any Sports Instructor or anyone wishing to be a Coach or Personal Trainer, fron any discipline or sport, and from any sports federation…
